| This LivePC is perfect for creating a safe environment for connecting back to your secure corporate network. Since the VPN connection originates from inside the virtual machine, your network will be highly isolated from the cruft on the end-users computer. It provides a basic set of web browsing and communication software including Firefox (web browser), Thunderbird (email client), gAIM (instant messenging), MPlayer (media player), Acrobat Reader (pdf viewer), Flash Player, and VPN Clients.
There is no GUI to configure the VPN clients, you will need to add your configuration files for the VPN before you publish your modified version for your workgroup. This supports Microsoft, Cisco, and OpenVPN based solutions. This VM is fully customizable because it includes all of the gentoo development tools (you can use emerge to add new software).
If you want to provide an office suite and/or a VoIP phone client to your remote workers, you would be better off using the Secure Corporate Workstation LivePC. |
