Changelog: Added more instructions for running the CPRSChart and GUIConfig tools and connecting them to the Moka5 VISTA EMR server from the Windows host.
WorldVISTA is an EMR based on the VA's VISTA software, that was developed over many years at taxpayer expense and released under the Freedom of Information Act.

This is the database and server for VISTA. It runs under the GTM version of MUMPS on Linux. The client end, called the CPRSChart GUI, connects to the server over a network and runs on Windows. There are actually two Windows network client packages. CPRSChart which is for users working with patients, and the GUIConfig package. GuiConfig is a client for administering the VISTA database, adding new patients and providers etc. These client packages configured to work with this Moka5 version of WorldVista are available by seperate download from http://alcald.homelinux.org/CPRSChart.zip and http://alcald.homelinux.org/GUI_Config.zip

If you want to use the VISTA database for storing your own information, or keep any other changes you make to the PCLinuxOS-2007 virtual machine, you need to configure the Moka5 player to allow the option "keep my changes". Otherwise, any data you enter will be overwritten by the current version of the virtual machine on the Moka5 site each time you start it up. If you just want to use it, and store information in the database, use the "Moka5 player". If you want to create a new version of this virtual machine to upload to the Moka5 site, you should use the "Moka5 creator" instead of the player.

PCLinuxOS is one of the most user-friendly and elegant-looking Linux distributions. It has the goal of being "radically simple".

Includes the latest VMware Tools and a shared Documents folder.

To run the VISTA database, login under user vista and double click the icon labeled "start_vista.sh" on the desktop. You should see a message indicating the server has started. You can use the older terminal interface to the VISTA EMR from the PCLinux desktop.

To use the CPRSChart and the GUIConfig interfaces, you have to download separate packages that run under Windows and connect from the network. See the links above. To use the CPRSChart gui, extract the zip file somewhere, such as your desktop. In the folder CPRSChart\WVEHRDir you will see a program file named "CPRSChartWVEHR-VOE1.0.exe". There is also a shortcut file to it called "Shortcut to CPRSChartVWEHR-VOE1.0.exe". Right click on the shortcut file and select "Properties". In the "Target" property you will see:"C:\Documents and Settings\Alex A. Caldwell\Desktop\CPRSChart\WVEHRDir\CPRSChartWVEHR-VOE1.0.exe" S=192.168.219.130 P=9240 CCOW=DISABLE Edit the path to CPRSChartWVEHR-VOE1.0.exe to reflect where you extracted the zip file on your machine. I tried to force the Moka5 Linux virtual machine runing the VISTA server to use 192.168.219.130 as it's IP address. It uses port 9240. If for some reason, the server is not using that IP address, you will need to edit those parameters in the properties file for the shortcut. The set up for the GUIConfig tool works the same way as the CPRSChart tool.

To stop the server, double click on the icon labeled "stop_vista.sh" and then turn off Linux from the PCLinux menu. Always shut down the VISTA database and Linux this way, rather than just shutting down the Moka5 player from Windows or else database corruption could occur.
